The Social Network

This was the first movie I’ve seen in quite a while where audience members were younger than 21!  Obviously this movie has strong appeal for the Facebook generation and those of us who are trying to stay current but don’t quite get it yet.  Although not an “action” movie the pace was very quick and I had to really concentrate to follow the dialogue.  I was often reminded of TV’s  Big Bang Theory.  Sheldon doesn’t purposely insult but states facts from his point of view. Mark Zuckerberg’s intent is always to maintain superiority.  While he predicted the social significance of his creation, he never was able to connect to people one-on-one.  From the perspective of a former teacher of gifted students I found the movie both disturbing and fascinating.  Sometimes they can be too smart for their own good.
