The Man in the Rockefeller Suit

“Oh what a tangled web we weave. When first we practice to deceive.” Sir Walter Scott could have been speaking of Christian Karl Gerhartsreiter; aka Christopher Chichester, Clark Rockefeller, Chip Rock, et al. I received this book through Goodreads’ First Reads program, but I would have found a way to get my hands on this book regardless. It’s a fascinating, detailed account of how one man was able to change identities and elude detection for over 30 years. It recalls the story of Frank Abagnale in the movie “Catch Me if You Can.” As delusional as this person must be, it also speaks to the rest of us who can be so easily manipulated into believing what we want to believe.
