Skill Builder Sampler

Last month I joined Sewn by Leila on the Skill Builder Sampler.  Although I’ve been quilting a long time, and sewing even longer, there are gaps in my skill repertoire.  This looked like a fun way to fill those holes.  These are the blocks I’ve completed so far.  This week’s challenge was to design our own 12″ block.  I’ve been attracted to the sawtooth block, for some reason, lately.  Math was never my best class so I was very surprised when this came out the right size on the first try.  Yippy skippy!

The fabrics are from the Sanctuary collection by Patty Young for Michael Miller with a couple of Kona solids thrown in.  The orange is school bus and the green is zucchini.

What’s most exciting is I finally figured out how to install buttons on the sidebar!  Watch out now…
